Barack Obama is the very definition of a politician, he’s willing to go wherever the political winds blow him. He’s only concerned about getting re-elected. (I was a little surprised at definition #2 above because that’s the way I’ve always viewed politicians, but I didn’t think it was part of the dictionary definition.)
–noun, plural -men.
- a person who is experienced in the art of government or versed in the administration of government affairs.
- a person who exhibits great wisdom and ability in directing the affairs of a government or in dealing with important public issues.
Some great leaders have stepped forward. When I think of statesmen, I think of men like Scott Walker and Chris Christie. Both of these men are willing to stand by their principles and balance their state budgets, even in the face of strong opposition.
History will show that Obama is just a politician. Years from now, we will look back and realize Walker and Christie are great statesmen.
