He calls the spending cuts “draconian.” When you compare the cuts to the overall budget, the reductions are miniscule: only $85 billion out of $3,800 billion. In fact, they aren’t even cuts at all.
Defense and medicare spending are scheduled to go up eight to 10 percent. Instead those budgets will only increase six to eight percent. That’s not a cut! Only in the fantasy land of Washington, DC is a six percent increase considered a cut.
All the media reporting about the sequester is just overblown hysteria.
