Obama Doesn’t Live Here Anymore

Shortly after President Trump took office, an old veteran approached the White House from the park across Pennsylvania Ave. where he’d been sitting on a park bench. He spoke to the US Marine standing guard and said, “I would like to go in and meet with President Obama.”

The marine looked at the vet and said, “Sir, Mr. Obama is no longer president and no longer resides here.” The old vet said, “Okay,” and walked away.

A Libertarian Story

A first grade teacher is explaining to her class that she is a Democrat and how nice it is that we have a Democrat president in office. She asks her students to raise their hands if they, too, are Democrats and support Barack Obama.

Everyone in class raises their hands except one little boy.

“Tommy,” says the teacher with surprise, “why didn’t you raise your hand?”

“Because I’m not a Democrat,” says Tommy.

“Well, what are you?” asks the teacher.

“I’m a Libertarian and proud of it,” replies the little boy.

The teacher cannot believe her ears. “My goodness, Tommy, why are you a Libertarian?” she asks.

“Well, my Mommy and Daddy are Libertarians, so I’m a Libertarian, too.”

“Well,” says the teacher in an annoyed tone, “that’s no reason for you to be a Libertarian. You don’t always have to be like your parents. What if your momma was a criminal and your papa was a criminal, too, what would you be then?”

Tommy smiled. “Then we’d all be Democrats.”

Are Government Jobs Important?

At a townhall style meeting, one woman had the “courage” to challenge the President about jobs. Was this woman planted in the audience to give Obama a chance to defend government unions and blame the evil Republicans for her job loss?

It is not an opportune time for me, I am seven months pregnant in a high-risk pregnancy, my first pregnancy. My husband and I are in the middle of building a house. We’re not sure if we’re gonna be completely approved.

I’m not exactly in a position to waltz right in and and do great on interviews, based on my timing with the birth. And so, I’m stressed, I’m worried. I’m scared about what I — what my future holds. I definitely need a job. And I just wonder what would you do, if you were me?

Let’s take a look at some of the facts about this woman.

Politicians vs. Statesmen

I’ve always maintaned there is a huge difference between politicians and statesmen. When I went to lookup the two words on Dictionary.com, I found these definitions:

pol·i·ti·cian [pol-i-tish-uhn]

  1. a person who is active in party politics.
  2. a seeker or holder of public office, who is more concerned about winning favor or retaining power than about maintaining principles.

Barack Obama is the very definition of a politician, he’s willing to go wherever the political winds blow him. He’s only concerned about getting re-elected. (I was a little surprised at definition #2 above because that’s the way I’ve always viewed politicians, but I didn’t think it was part of the dictionary definition.)
