Concerning Trump’s “Muslim Ban”

President Trump talks while holding executive order on immigration

There is a little known law that those who oppose Trump’s executive action have forgotten about. It’s 8 U.S. Code § 1182 which talks about Inadmissible aliens and states in part:

Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by president. Whenever the president finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, the president may, by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.

So it seems that if the courts properly apply this law, the President’s order will be upheld. Some parts could be struck down concerning green card holders, but the rest will be upheld.

I’d like to point out that Obama used this same law to stop processing requests from Iraqi refugees for six months in 2011. Jimmy Carter canceled visas and banned immigrants from Iran during the hostage crisis in 1980.

You Don’t Understand the Problem

If you fear Donald Trump, there’s a larger problem here

Republicans: If you think things are going to magically get better now, you don’t understand the problem.

Democrats: If you’re afraid of Donald Trump, you don’t understand the problem.

The problem is an expanding federal government and an executive branch that seized too much power over the last 8 years.

Obama Doesn’t Live Here Anymore

Shortly after President Trump took office, an old veteran approached the White House from the park across Pennsylvania Ave. where he’d been sitting on a park bench. He spoke to the US Marine standing guard and said, “I would like to go in and meet with President Obama.”

The marine looked at the vet and said, “Sir, Mr. Obama is no longer president and no longer resides here.” The old vet said, “Okay,” and walked away.

The United States presidential election of 2016 featured a contest between Democrat Hillary Clinton and her Republican opponent, Donald Trump, as well as Gary Johnson, who ran as a Libertarian. Trump, aided by the ISIS crisis and a stagnant economy at home, won the election in a landslide. Clinton, after defeating Bernie Sanders for the Democratic nomination, attacked Trump as a dangerous right-wing radical. For his part, Trump, the real estate magnate and reality TV star, repeatedly ridiculed Clinton, and won a decisive victory; in the simultaneous Congressional elections, Republicans widened control of the United States Senate. This election marked the beginning of what is popularly called the “Populist Revolution.”
